Adobe Illustrator Tutorial - Live Color, Recolor Artwork

Hey everyone, I'm pretty sure most of you haven't had a chance to check out some of my tutorials. I'll be posting the periodically to give people a chance to learn something and learn my process as well.



For this tutorial, I show you how to simply recolor complex artwork files using the "Recolor Artwork" or previously known as "Live Color" in Adobe Illustrator. This save time, money and aggravation!

Shortcuts Used:

ctrl + A = Select All

"i" = Eye Dropper Tool

Finger Lickin' Good

Here's a shirt design I recently created... That is all ; )

Yeah, yet another ninja turtle fan-art piece. I was just in the mode for some pizza eating, nunchaku ass kickin' art.

Random Practice

Here's an image that kinda went no-where fast. It started as a sketch and some practice for textures and just got carried away. Wish I had a direction lol.

Buck Design

Here's the finished artwork for a client and their hunting and fishing line of clothing. Total of 8 hours work.

Priest's Love for Mustangs

Here's a quick commision for a t-shirt design a client wanted. It's a caricature of a priest and his love for mustangs. This was inked in Illustrator and colored in Photoshop.

Here's a quick 30min. doodle to take a break from my other client work. Nothing special ;-)

Epic Fail

Somehow I finished saving after another hour and a half of work and saved both the .jpg and .psd file at 72 dpi!!!! Epic Fail.... anyways... here's the final post for this as I dont feel the need to go back a redo all the hard work.

I've found plenty of inspiration from the video games (Battletoads), playing them as a kid but also Mr.Delicious' (Dave Rapoza) amazing style & technique so I'm seemingly finding that it helps me create with ease. Hey everyone!

This is my first official post in what hopes to be a weekly endeavor of posting random scribblings, doodles, tut's and finished work's of mine. Feel free to hit me with some feedback or just be plan mean.. either way I'll be happy =) This one is a random fan art / tribute to the late Notorious B.I.G. and was initially sketched in Photoshop on my Fujitsu 5111 with a hard round brush. I then hit the line work with some prelim' values and then refined them as I went. Kinda got bored and decided to post it!
